URGENT NEED WORKER! NGO JOB AT "WAR CHILD HOLLAND" IN AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS


You

You are responsible for advising and supporting the Head of Field Operations and Country Management teams. With your programmes experience gained in similar organisation(s), you will support, advice and monitor a portfolio of programme countries (approximately 4-6 countries). War Child implements programmes directly (with a War Child office and employees) or indirectly through local partner organizations. You are based at Head Office in Amsterdam and you report to the Head of Field Operations. You are the focal point for the Country Directors (CD’s) and member of the War Child security team.

Your challenge

You advise and support (especially by coordination) Head Office and Field Management in all types of processes regarding strategic and operational (annual) planning and monitoring of progress, quality assurance, effectiveness and efficiency. You maintain and contribute to internal and external networks. You fulfil agreements with third parties and institutions, such as institutional donors, related aid and development organisations, security organisations and local governments.

Your profile

You have a relevant academic degree in international economics, management, development studies or related field. You have at least 5 years field experience in humanitarian or development work, preferably in a child focussed organisation. You have excellent communication skills in English and French (oral and written). Fluency in Spanish, Dutch and/or Arabic is an added value. You have strong social skills and you are able to operate effectively in various cultural and war affected contexts. You have strong strategic and analytical competences for policy development. You have good planning, coordination and organisational skills. You are able to take decisions and or support decision making regarding strategic, tactical and operational matters. You are hands-on and able to organise human and other resources in order to achieve War Child’s objectives. You are flexible, result oriented and you thrive in a multicultural multi stakeholder environment. You are able and willing to travel extensively to different countries (up to 40% per year).
You are fulltime available and you are committed to invest at least two years in this position. War Child offers a contract for one year with the intention to prolong. Starting date is as soon as possible.
