University of Zagreb's Faculty of Political Science, in association with the scientific journal Political Perspectives, and with the support of the European Commission, Jean Monnet Programme of the European Union, has a distinct honor of inviting you to submit your paper proposal for the upcoming international conference “Decade after the EU ‘big bang’ enlargement: future perspectives of the enlargement process”
. CONFERENCE TOPIC INFORMATION The big bang enlargement of the European Union to 10 new member states (mostly from Central and Eastern Europe) occurred a decade ago. It was a political step of great importance, and one which was analyzed extensively. Those analyses produced significant insights in the functioning of political processes both in the EU, as well as within individual states. Those insights might be important to understand the further enlargement of the EU. We invite you to submit your papers that focus on the link between political reforms in candidate countries, potential candidate countries, and the enlargement policy of the EU. We also welcome papers that deal with the influence of the enlargement process on the states of the Eastern partnership, as well on any other European state that is influenced by the EU enlargement policy. Influence of enlargement on existing and new policies of the European Union as a topic of the paper is greatly welcomed as well. General conference topics: · Evaluation of the European integration process in the Western Balkans · Political reforms in candidate countries and influence of enlargement process · Influence of the EU enlargement policy on European states · EU Enlargement process and the Eastern Partnership
